Thoughts on Recession

Winter is upon us and so is the holiday season. Many studios are finishing year-end projects and searching for new ones in the coming year. Across the nation, there are significant struggles with the finally "official" recession and an unemployment rate that has not been seen in over 25 years. Upstate New York has no immunity to the economic condition that is gripping the country. Either affecting us directly with our own clients or worse, having to leave some of our team members go.

Many of our AIGA colleagues have been asking… How are you dealing with the recession?

Richard Grefé, the executive director of AIGA, just published an article on the national web site “How Is AIGA Helping Designers Survive the Recession? where he presents some thoughts on what designers can do during this time. I highly recommend you take a moment to read his article. Many of the things he recommends are well with in the reach of everyone and definitely will have some value in the future. You have to do something, because doing nothing is not an option.

It is really important to the community if you have a helpful remedy. Please post your comments here:
