Never thought it would arrive, but spring is here and it is glorious. This is my 7th year living in Upstate New York. Each year I feel the punishing winters will never end. Then Spring arrives! Ahhh, The Lilacs, Lily of the Valley and green, green grass. Lovin' It!
Spring also brings a new crop of design graduates. Congratulations to all the students who made it through their final projects. Welcome to the next level, professional practice. Please remember, a great benefit of your membership to AIGA is the privilege of networking with members in UPSTNY and the rest of the country. For those still in school, we look forward to your involvement in your schools Student Group next year.
Another big thing happening, Four UPSTNY board members will be attending the 2009 AIGA National Retreat in Portland, Oregon the first week of June. They will be representing the chapter proudly. It has been a great year for the design community in the Upstate. We are sure to talk up our accomplishments and network with other chapters to hear what they did this past year.
Upon return, the board will begin planning for the next year of chapter programming. If you are interested in being more involved in programming and communications with our chapter, please email the President: president@upstatenewyork.aiga.org. We are always interested in building this collaborative team of amazing creative people.
Best,
Bill Klingensmith
