Rochester Student Portfolio Workshop 2011

AIGA UPSTNY Student Portfolio Review
Oct. 20, 2011

The Upstate New York Chapter of the AIGA invites graphic design students of New York to our first Student Portfolio Workshop.

Feedback from the 2011 Spring Portfolio Review was overwhelming - students thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with pros and wanted something similar this Fall, so we've decided to provide a Portfolio Workshop Oct. 2011 and a Portfolio Review April 2012.

THE EVENT:
The Portfolio Workshop will involve 4-8 professionals and approximately 50 students. The pros will offer 15-20 minute presentations to each group on what they look for in portfolios, how students should talk about their work, printed vs. electronic portfolios, how to write emails/cover letters/resumes to potential employers, and how to display work in their portfolios.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND

You will receive insight from local design educators, professional designers, and potential employers. This event is a great way to discuss your work, network and become aware of who's who in your local design community.

WHO CAN ATTEND:
Students: The review is open to college students (maximum capacity of 50 students per location)
Reviewers: The review is open to local art and design professionals and educators.

COST:
AIGA Student members: $5
Student non-members: $10
Portfolio reviewers: Free
